About the Chamber

Vision Made Us First; Leadership Keeps Us One of the Largest in the Nation

When it comes to launching new ventures, employing Americans and generating dollars, women-owned businesses are a boom to the U.S. economy. In Colorado, there are an estimated 223,347 privately-held, 50% or more women-owned firms and generating roughly $37 billion in sales.

Women in Colorado employ more than 250,731 people, and the Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce has played a significant role in growing business for the state. Nine visionary women founded the organization in 1988, making CWCC the nation's first chamber of commerce focused on creating a successful economic community for women in business.

Denver is one of the nation's top 20 metropolitan areas with the greatest share of women-owned firms. CWCC is a top resource for these firms because of the ways in which, by supporting women, it has influenced the law and corporate policies and practices, including a respect for diversity.

With an eye toward the changing culture of our population and the future of business, CWCC awards scholarships, introduces young women to career ideas, raises funds for programs that help women change their lives, and rewards vision and innovation in the workplace.

The chamber community includes corporate executives, small business employees, government representatives and men, groups that, through CWCC, are in tune with the impact women have on business, politics and the economy. CWCC members are leaders, recipients of myriad awards, and individuals who look to one another for the tools and ideas that keep Colorado one of the best places to be a woman in business.

There is a real magic in enthusiasm. It spells the difference between mediocrity and accomplishment….
