What is the Women’s Chamber 30 second commercial?
We connect business & women. We’re a community of corporate,
small business, government & non-profit representatives. Members
build their businesses through networking events, education and
partnerships. We’ve grown to be the largest women’s
chamber in the nation by being inclusive – men are even part
of our leadership. We provide access to Denver’s top business
contacts and connections.
How much does it cost to be a member?
It depends on the kind of visibility you would like to receive.
Membership levels start at $350.00 and go up to $10,000.00. It is up to
you to determine how much you want to promote your company and support
the chamber and its mission.
How much is a luncheon? What are they like?
Luncheons are $35.00 for Non-Members. Pre-paid members come
at a rate of $25.00. The member at-the-door rate is $35.00.
To guarantee a seat you will need to pre-register and pre-pay. Members begin arriving to the lunch around 11 a.m. the
program begins at 11:50 a.m. There are announcements of upcoming
events, introduction of the Head table and new members. We break
for lunch and we all share a ‘success story’ at each
of the tables. The speaker begins at 12:40 p.m. and speaks until
1:00 p.m. We draw names for door prizes and wish everyone a great
day. The luncheons are full of energy and the networking is amazing!
Once you attend a luncheon you can’t help but want to support CWCC and its membership.
How much is a Business-After-Hours? What are they like?
All events are pre-paid. Business-After-Hours is $15.00. At the
member discount it is $10.00. The at-the-door rate is $15.00. Business-After-Hours
are less structured than monthly luncheons. They usually run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Cocktails and hors d‘oeuvres are served. This particular event
is a great way to relax after work and network in a comfortable
atmosphere.
How many members do you have?
The CWCC has more than 1,200 representative members. They are corporate executives,
small business owners and government & nonprofit representatives.
Are men allowed?
Yes – because we welcome all who support CWCC’s mission
of creating an economic community for women. CWCC connects business
and women. We provide access to Denver’s top business connections
and contacts and we believe in equal opportunity. It is important
that all doors are open and all opportunities are available to the
membership.
What is the difference between CWCC and other chambers of
commerce?
Our culture is a big part of it. Because the majority of our members
are women, that impacts the way we network. We are an organization
of professionals who focus on how they can support and partner with
one another. Additionally, 60 percent of our members are senior
management and above, so when you come to a CWCC event, you’re
networking with decision-makers who are here to support you.
What does the chamber do?
As the largest women’s chamber in the nation, the Colorado
Women’s Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) benefits more than 1,200
members across the state. Helping people achieve their business
goals and connecting women in business is how and why our organization
has grown. Our programs cultivate business development, professional
excellence and leadership. We have:
• 2 monthly luncheons
• Business-After-Hours – every other month
• Educational Programs
• 5 Leads groups in the Denver Metro and surrounding areas
• Annual Meeting Luncheon
• ATHENA Award Gala
• The Power of Leadership Program
What are Leads groups?
Leads groups, also known as Serious Contacts, are structured networking
and is a free member benefit. You must be a non-competing business
within the specific group of your choice and be at the Associate
level or above to participate. Our Membership Director can help you determine
if you are eligible or if there is an opening for you. If there
is no current opening for your business’s category you can
be placed on a wait list and you will be called when a spot has
opened.
How do you register for an event?
We want the registration process to be convenient for you. There
are three ways to register.
• If you have access to the website, visit www.cwcc.org and
register on the events page.
• Fill out one of our calendars and fax it to 303-458-0222.
• Call the office and one of the staff members would be happy
to take your registration.
What is the cancellation policy?
All events are pre-paid, a 48-hour notice is required for all cancellations
and no-shows will be charged automatically when the event is over.
If another representative from your business would like to take
your place we can replace your name with theirs.
What is the pass policy?
Passes are a membership benefit only. Employees of a company that
is a member may use a pass. When using a pass to pay for an event
you must provide a credit card to hold your reservation, unless
you can bring it to the office prior to the event. If a pass is
not presented to registration at the event, your credit card will
automatically be charged the pre-paid rate.
Who hosts the Business-After-Hours? How is the location
determined?
Any member who is at the Business level and above may host a Business-After-Hours.
In doing so, they must provide the location, beverages and food.
The host determines the location upon approval of CWCC.
How do I become more involved?
How much time do you have to commit to CWCC? There are several
areas that you can get involved. We have seasonal committees (you
must be at the Associate level and above) and we have year-round
committees such as the Membership Committee. If you are interested
in sitting on a Council such as the Board of Directors or the Public
Affairs Council you must be at the Business Level and above. Please
call our office for more information.
Why do I have to be at a certain level to participate?
You need to be at the Associate level because it shows everyone
else the commitment you have to the chamber and the willingness
you have to support other Associates. It would be difficult for
you to ask another person to join at a level higher than you are.
All board members have to make a financial commitment to the chamber
to be part of the board.
What if I don’t have time to participate?
Consider sending other company representatives who may be available
to participate in the professional development that we have to offer.
Regardless of participation, CWCC is a voice for women in business
and your membership supports CWCC. Because of your support we are
able to provide programs such as the WBE certification that gives
women-owned businesses the opportunity to gain business and succeed
in today’s economy. CWCC is able to teach women and men leadership
skills through the Power of Leadership program. Because of your
financial support, you help us accomplish our mission of creating
an economic community for women in business.
