COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES 4-year Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship In conjunction with CWCC, CSM awards this scholarship to a young woman high school senior. This scholarship provides books, fees and tuition for four years of study. The Florence Caldwell Achievement Scholarship is presented at ATHENA Award Gala. Scholarship Overview Information: - One hundred and eleven years ago, Florence Caldwell became the first woman to graduate from the Colorado School of Mines.
- As part of this important legacy of encouraging women to pursue degrees and careers in science and engineering, Colorado School of Mines, in cooperation with the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, began awarding the Florence Caldwell Scholarship in 2000.
- The Florence Caldwell Scholarship covers tuition, mandatory and regular fees, and a book allowance for four years. The award is valued at approximately $48,000 over this period of time.
Scholarship Application Criteria: - Must be a Colorado resident.
- Must have at least a 3.8 GPA.
- Must be in the top 5% of class.
- Must have an ACT composite score of 30 or SAT Critical Reading and Math combined score of 1320.
