The Great Reset: Recovering from the ‘Shecession’
For more than a year, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce, TARRA, and our partners at Metropolitan State University of Denver have been on a listening tour to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on women in business – and provide solutions for recovery.
This research project culminated with the final session in our Executive Roundtable Series, the State of Women in Business: Solutions to the Shecession, presented by Amazon on February 9, 2022. After so much time observing the dire effects of the pandemic and watching the data slide into 1980s-era outlooks, it was refreshing to hear actual, tangible solutions that businesses can put into practice immediately.

We were inspired, invigorated, and motivated to share these findings and hear the conversations that were catalyzed.
Our panel of experts, comprised of executive leaders and small business owners, discussed everything from resources to support women-owned businesses to in-depth conversations about women who live in those various intersectional identities, including BIPOC women, LGBTQ+ women, new mothers, older workers, and allies.
- We’re pleased to share the Whitepaper of The Great Reset: Women in the Workforce with the complete findings of five Executive Roundtable listening sessions with business leaders. The research and recommendations were compiled by Dr. Lynann “Annie” Butler, professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver with help from graduate student, Cate Hill.
