Women’s Chamber takes a stand on the issues

In addition to taking a strong stand against Amendment 46, the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce Board also agreed to support Amendment 50, Limited Gaming in Central City Black Hawk and Cripple Creek. 

Why is the Women’s Chamber supporting an amendment about legalized gaming?  Because, this amendment allows the communities to increase the bet limit from $5 to $100 with 22 percent of revenues going to gaming towns and 78 percent of going to 16 community colleges for student financial aid programs and classroom instruction programs.  Amendment 50 would contribute an additional $200 million to Colorado’s Community Colleges in its first five years without raising taxes.
