Adventures of Pinky: North Luncheon with Kathleen Mayer

 Today was the first North Lunch of 2009 and the first one at the new location of Dave & Buster’s Westminster.  Kathleen Mayer, Director of Flight for Life Colorado spoke to us about her life and the program and both were very inspiring.  She told us the story of how Flight for Life began in Colorado and the courageous flight nurses who started the program.  She gave us a history of Flight for Life, which brought some audience members to tears when she recounted historic tragedies and triumphs over the last 35 years.  Kathy then told us her history and what brought her from being a nurse at Children’s Hospital to eventually becoming the director of this amazing program.  She ended the luncheon with a humorous story about one of her most memorable experiences at Flight for Life.  What an amazing speaker and what a great program!!
