Welcome, Treaunna Jones!

Please join us in welcoming Treaunna Jones, the new Program Manager for the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce!
Treaunna comes to CWCC with a wealth of experience helping young people prepare for college and careers and is now taking that passion to helping women advance in their careers and grow their businesses. She has diverse experience in program development, management, and advocacy.
As CWCC’s Program Manager, Treaunna has her hands very full, designing and overseeing more than 100 educational programming and professional development cohorts. She also manages the CWCC Policy Committee and acts as the official liaison for the Associate Board of Directors.
We asked her a few questions to help CWCC members get to know Treaunna a bit better…

The Why: what about the CWCC makes you smile? Why are you passionate about advancing women in business?
I am so grateful for this opportunity to work with such an amazing organization. I have been working with youth most of my career, having similar conversations, preparing them for the future of their careers.
Now, to be in a space where so many amazing women are navigating their career paths who are hungry for new ways to honor their dreams and passions is a beautiful transition in this moment in my life. Having the chance to witness the power we possess when we all work together is truly a blessing. I have already learned so much.
Being a part of CWCC definitely adds value to my existence and purpose and I am honored to be apart of the mission of advancing women in business and participating in the progress of our futures selves.
What is something we’d be surprised to learn about you?
People are always surprised to learn that I have three children, two of them being teenagers in High School! My 17-year-old daughter will be heading off to college in the fall leaving behind two brothers to keep me company. Time flies, and I am grateful to be raising such beautiful human beings as my first full time job. 🙂 They are my number one inspiration for everything I endeavor to do.

WHO can you credit with helping you along your way – or changing your life trajectory for the better?
I definitely want to give flowers to my dear friend and mentor Dr. Auset. She has always been in my corner and has taught me a lot about who I am. She has helped me continue to honor myself throughout so many areas and spaces in my life and reminds me to continue to show self-compassion and grace through life’s challenges. I have known her for over 20 years, and she has always looked out for me and advocated for me when I needed her most. I will forever be grateful for the support I have received from her along the way, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. She is an important part of my success and growth, and I appreciate her belief in me and all that I am capable of.
How has your identity shaped your life and career?
My identity has evolved so much over the course of my career, and I would say that I am just scraping the surface of this journey. Through the evolution of self, I have really begun to recognize and honor my value and worth as an individual and a team member. I have tapped into understanding and appreciating the qualities I bring to the table in connection with my career goals and aspirations, and how i can be an asset to the organization I have the opportunity to contribute to. I am excited to be a part of CWCC, an organization that allows me to show up as my authentic self and truly cares about the value of having strong women leaders in place to push forward the mission and vision to support and advance women in business today!

What do you like to do in your non-working life?
In my non-working life and outside of motherhood, I enjoy fitness and spending time outdoors. I enjoy visiting the gym multiple times a week and participating in several fitness classes particularly Zumba and Yoga. Another fun fact is that I have been a dancer all of my life! As I have gotten older, I certainly utilize dance as a fitness tool while having fun at the same time. Colorado has so many outdoor things to do and so much sunshine to enjoy. My most favorite outdoor activities include hiking and spending time at some of the many lakes and reservoirs we have. I also very much enjoy concerts and live music!
What else?
If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d start a Wellness company that supports, promotes and contributes to the overall well-being and mental wellness of Women of Color. And, you know, keep working here…
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve Chocolate and Dancing!
If I weren’t so good at my job, I’d probably be on an indigenous Island somewhere healing and rejuvenating Black Women.
