CWCC Announces 2021 ATHENA Award Winner

The CWCC is thrilled to announce the 2021 ATHENA Leadership Award recipient: Kelly Brough, Chief Strategy Officer at MSU Denver!

This award is inspired by the Greek goddess, Athena, known for her strength, courage, wisdom, and enlightenment.

Kelly has been the FIRST of many things… the first female CEO of the 150-year old Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the first female director of human resources for the City and County of Denver, and the first female snowplow driver at Stapleton International Airport! It has been said that “Kelly has power. It’s the kind of power that comes from within, sometimes quiet and sometimes bold, but always sensible and backed with purpose and rationale. She changes minds and builds coalitions around important issues.”

She was just recently appointed Chief Strategy Officer for Metropolitan State University of Denver. We are looking forward to honoring this incredible woman and her trailblazing work at a celebratory luncheon held in conjunction with our Powerful Voices Conversation Series, presented by Bank of America.

Thank you to our ATHENA selection committee for your service.
