Social networking event so successful, we will host another in May

Last night, we hosted a seminar “Social Networking— How to Use New Technology to Connect with Business Associates and Customers” presented by Deb Krier to a sold out crowd.  Since this seminar was so popular and sold out early, we have decided to offer another one at 4:30 p.m. on May 12 at the Chamber offices.  Click here to register for the workshop.

In addition to the huge crowd, CBS4 came and to do a story of the workshop and interviewed one of our Board Members, Rebecca Kirchdorfer.  Click here for the CBS4 story – http://cbs4denver.com/seenon/websites.facebook.twitter.2.980194.html.

Teaching new technology will help our member businesses move forward in this new marketing arena.  It is a way to get the most out of your networking–you can see who is going to an event before you get there and make sure that you connect with them.  Krier taught how to use social networking/media as a way to promote a business and how to set up on some of the more popular sites including Twitter, LinkedIn, My Space and Facebook. She explained  that social networking may seem daunting, but it is a new trend that can potentially reach thousands of people on a daily basis.  “Just be careful what you post online, once it is up it is public. Employers’ are checking out these sites and you can miss out on a job opportunity, since ‘What happens in Vegas, no longer stays there.'”
